Mezeiová, Zdenka ; Tirpák, Jan (advisor) ; Němec, Zbyněk (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the development of diagnostics of morally defective youth used at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in correctional institutions. The diagnosis of morally defective youth was closely related to the issue of correction and re-education of these persons. The very consequences of behavioral disorders have always had a serious impact on socielity itself. By establishing correctional facilities and the subsequent diagnosis of the inmates, the compeny accepted responsibility for the re-education of these persons. The diploma thesis has a comparative character with the aim of identifyng common or, on the contrary, different features in the diagnosis of youth. The theoretical part defines diagnostics in etopedic practice as we know it today. The classifications of behavioral disorders used today and at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries are described here. Methods and techniques used in special pedagogy - etopedics are charakterized in detail here. Furthermore, the systém of counseling care for children and youth with behavioral disorders and the most important legal norms related to the upbringing, education and support of children with behavioral disorders are described here. The empirical part of the work is focused on a comprehensive historical...
Interspecific and intraspecific variation in gastrointestinal microbiota composition of parrots and its association with incidence of selected disorders
Černá, Kateřina ; Vinkler, Michal (advisor) ; Rychlík, Ivan (referee)
Captive parrots are susceptible to various digestive, metabolic, and behavioural disorders. Recent research in other vertebrates has suggested that these disorders can be linked to the gut microbiota, directly or through the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Although many commercial probiotic products intended for the use in parrots advertise beneficial effects on digestion and mental well- being, these statements are not sufficiently supported with publicly available scientific evidence, but probably rather based on the extrapolation of the knowledge of microbiota-gut-brain interactions in poultry, mice, and humans. However, there are substantial differences in the gastrointestinal tract morphology and gut microbiota composition between parrots and these model vertebrates. This thesis aimed to describe the interspecific and intraspecific variation in the gut microbiota composition of parrots and to link the variation in microbial communities to the incidence of eight selected behavioural and physiological disorders. The gut microbiota composition of 491 individuals from 85 parrot species was analysed using 16S rRNA metabarcoding. The host species, type of feed, and housing environment were identified as the main factors influencing the diversity and composition of the gut microbiota of parrots. A...
Pedagogical assistant in a school club and children with behavioral disorders
ŠVANDOVÁ, Marie
The main research objective of this thesis is to find out how pedagogical assistants and educators in after-school clubs think about educating children with behavioural disorders and behavioural problems. The first chapter attempts to distinguish between behavioural disorders and behavioural problems, defines ethopedics and behavioural disorders, their etiology, and diagnostics. The second chapter deals with inclusive education for students with special needs and defines the position of teaching assistants in terms of Czech legislation. The third chapter presents qualitative research consisting of four phenomenological interviews. The research aim is to explore and understand the experience of pedagogical assistants and educators in after-school clubs educating children with behavioural disorders and behavioural problems. The findings of the research are compared with the theory presented in the professional literature, and, in conclusion, recommendations for educational practice are suggested.

Hostitelská péče u dětí s nařízenou ústavní výchovou
DEJOVÁ, Natálie
The aim of my diploma thesis was to map the experience of employees of children's homes and further of children's homes with a school and host care. The partial goals were to find out the benefits and risks of the implementation of host care for children with compulsory institutional education. The theoretical part explained in detail the principle of functioning of social and legal protection of children in host care, the system of institutional and substitute host care, differences in the life of a child in a children's home and children's home with a school and the principle of host care. In the practical part, the results of my research were clearly processed, and the research question was answered, which was focused on the view of the workers of children's homes and children's homes with a school and host care. Partial research questions found out what positives and what negatives host care can have for children with compulsory institutional education. A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research of this thesis and questioning with the technique of semi-structured interview was chosen as the method. The data analysis was performed by the clustering method. Subsequently, two other methods were used; the method of simple enumeration and the method of contrasts and comparisons. The research files were selected by deliberate selection. The research group consisted of 5 principals, 3 social workers and 5 educators of children's homes and children's homes with a school meeting the selection criteria. My research shows that the experience of host care is for all workers positive, even though everyone is aware of certain risks that host care entails. However, they agreed that the positives of host care prevailed. The main benefit of host care, as can be deduced from my research, is the possibility for the child to see and experience the functioning of a normal family within host care. The main risk of host care may include disproportionate attachment of the child to the host provider or vice versa and the associated disappointment of the child or host providers. The results of my research will serve as acknowledgment to all employees of institutional facilities who participated in my research, and the brochure created, will also serve to increase the awareness of people who are interested in this issue.
Preventivelly-educational Care for Children, Pupils and Students with a Risk of Formation and Development of Behavioural Disorders
STROHMEROVÁ, Kristýna
In my bachelor's thesis I focus on preventively educational care for children, pupils and students with a risk of developing a behavioural disorder. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, I explain the term special pedagogics. This is followed by a chapter which I focus in more detail on behavioural disorders explored by the special pedagogical field of ethopedia. In the third chapter I introduce individual institutions that focus on preventively educational care. In the final chapter I focus on educational care institutions in more detail. In the practical part I set two goals for myself. First, I found out how educational care institutions provide diagnostical, preventively educational and counselling services. The second goal was mapping modern trends in these services. For my work I selected qualitative research, the method of questioning and the technique of a semi-structured interview. To evaluate the data, I used mind maps, from the interviews I selected 8 categories, which I illustrated by mind maps and further analysed. The research sample were employees of selected institutions. The thesis provides a unified view of the way of providing diagnostical, preventively educational and counselling services in educational care institutions in the Vysočina Region. Furthermore, the thesis maps modern trends in this field and their application in the institutions. The bachelor's thesis and its results can provide a unified view of providing diagnostical, preventively educational and counselling services in educational care institutions in the Vysočina region. This thesis is beneficial for parents, pedagogical workers or for adolescents. It can further be beneficial for other employees of educational care institutions.

TITLE: Self- inflicted trauma in young people with in the context of behavioral disturbance AUTHOR: Bc. Katarína Kolaříková DEPARTMENT: Department of special education SUPERVISOR: Doc. PaeDr. Eva Šotolová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis solves two serious topics of special pedagogic. Behavioural disorders and self-harming behaviour. Self-harming behaviour is deliberate, conscious and often repetitive violation of physical integrity without intent to die. The work is divided into 11 chapters. The first are focused on behavioural disorders, self-harming behaviours, and crisis intervention. Other chapters deal with the goals, research questions and chosen method of treatment. The aim was to map the occurrence, factors and methods of self-harming and describe alternative techniques of reducing this behaviour. Qualitative research is used in this work - analysing the anamneses of individuals with behavioural disorders and interviews with ethopedic workers. The inquiry of documentation shows that self-harming behaviour is caused by negative effects of family and social environment. The most common methods include self-cutting of girls, fists and head pounding against the wall of boys. For alternative methods of reducing this behaviour, the staff of orphanages with schools agreed that the preferred method is...
Running terapeutic community for youth with risky behaviours
Šiklová, Barbora ; Havránková, Olga (advisor) ; Vodáčková, Daniela (referee)
The master thesis deals with the applicability of the model of therapeutic community in the work with youth at risk. The aim of the thesis is to provide information about possible connection of these two phenomena based on theory and Czech practice. The thesis has a theoretical and an empirical part. The chapters of the theoretical part describe target groups from the view of adulthood development, the model of therapeutic community and its possible application in various diagnostic circles. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes the employment of the model of therapeutic community in the work with youth at risk in a historical perspective. Next, it suggests that the model of therapeutic community is compatible with the attainment of developmental goals during maturing. The empirical part maps the usage of elements of therapeutic community model in selected facilities which work with youth at risk. It informs whether these elements occur and if so, what shape they take in practice.
